Edu and Mikel Arteta have already earmarked Arsenal's David Luiz replacement

Arsenal may have already decided on David Luiz's replacement ahead of his departure this summer.

Luiz is set to leave the Gunners at the end of the season with the club agreeing the centre-back will move on at the end of his current contract this summer.

But with the veteran having played a sizable part this season, his departure leaves a void at the back for Mikel Arteta, despite the emergence of Rob Holding and Pablo Mari.

Though, perhaps not for long with reports claiming the Gunners are already drawing up a shortlist of centre-backs, including one current Fulham defender.

According to The Athletic, Fulham's Tosin Adarabioyo is the man on Edu and Arteta's radar heading into this summer when a centre-back will now be on the wishlist.

Adarabioyo has impressed for Fulham this season, making 31 Premier League appearances.

Despite the Cottagers suffering relegation, Scott Parker's men managed a very respectable goals-against tally with only one other team between 13th and 20th managing to concede less.

Adarabioyo was part of a relatively solid defence having joined Fulham from Manchester City last year, also spending time with West Brom and Blackburn Rovers on loan previously.

Still only 23, Adarabioyo appears to be a big talent and one that does not look likely to be playing Championship football next season.

Adarabioyo could be one of the players Fulham are forced to allow to leave, and Arsenal could take advantage of that, though the centre-back may not become overly cheap given he is under contract until 2023.

The Gunners will likely have other names on their shortlist to go along with Adarabioyo ahead of the summer, but given he and Arteta know each other from their time at City, this one might just make sense.
