Arsenal could be set to face major competition in the race for Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana this summer.

A fee is yet to be agreed between his current employers and Arsenal and the North Londoners will need to move quickly if they are to secure his signature.
According to Goal, Onana is attracting interest from around Europe, whilst a club who finished in the top eight in the Premier League table last season have apparently made contact over a move.
The goalkeeping position is certainly an aspect of the squad that needs strengthening next season at the Emirates Stadium.
Bernd Leno endured a difficult campaign in 2020/21, whilst Runar Alex Runarsson appears unlikely to be a viable option for the No. 1 shirt - for the time being at the very least.

Onana’s ban has been reduced to nine months following an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, meaning he is now able to train once again from September 4, whilst he is eligible to take to the pitch from November 4.
