Edmonton stabbing: Woman fighting for life after being knifed in the back by man in street attack

A woman is fighting for life in hospital after she was stabbed in the back during an assault in the street in north London.

The victim, aged in her 40s, was found with a stab wound to her back after being attacked by a man in Edmonton on Saturday evening.

Police and paramedics raced to the scene in Aberdeen Road shortly after 7pm following reports of an assault.

The woman was taken to an east London hospital in a critical condition.

Scotland Yard said the suspect is described as a black man, approximately 6ft 3ins tall, of skinny build and wearing dark clothing, possibly a hooded top.

No arrests have been made and a crime scene remains in place. Officers from the North Area Command Unit are investigating.
