Police are appealing for witnesses after two men were knifed in a north London McDonald’s.

Three males armed with blades reportedly burst into the restaurant in Fore Street, Edmonton, and carried out the attack.

The victims, one aged 18 and the other 20, were found by officers suffering knife wounds.

The 18-year-old victim was stabbed in the back. He was taken to hospital, where his condition was described as “serious but stable”.

The 20-year-old suffered a slash injury to his leg. He was taken to hospital and has since been discharged.

The fight happened late on Saturday. There have been no arrests.

Officers are trying to establish a motive, and on Sunday issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward.

Det Sgt Chris Anderson, who is leading the investigation, said: "I am appealing for anyone who was in McDonald's, or the area around the restaurant in Fore Street, between 11.30pm and midnight to contact police if you have information that could assist this investigation.

"It appears at least three males armed with knives rushed into the restaurant and attacked the two victims.

"We believe they may have been in the vicinity of the restaurant for around 15 minutes prior to the attack.

"If you saw this group, or witnessed or filmed the attack or its aftermath, please contact police immediately."

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting CAD 8218 of January 12. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
