Editorial: Trump's tall tales: Poor misunderstood Donald

The president of the United States never lies.

Which means Vice President Mike Pence's chief of staff was obviously mistaken when he said Pence stayed at a Trump property in Ireland, more than 140 miles away from the leaders he was visiting with in Dublin, because President Trump had suggested it.

"I don't suggest anything," said the president. So that's the truth.

Also, the National Weather Service was obviously wrong when it disputed Trump's unfounded claim that Alabama "will most likely be hit (much) harder than anticipated" by Hurricane Dorian.

As anyone with eyes can see, Alabama was inside the Sharpie circle mysteriously drawn on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration map the President held up. So that's the truth; the storm was definitely once headed to Alabama.

In the past week alone, CNN reports Trump told 62 falsehoods, about par for a Trump golf course. A few: that he always opposed the Iraq War (he didn't), that General Motors moved car plants to China (they haven't), that China is paying for tariffs he imposed (Americans are the ones paying).

Its attempt to expose the lies of a man who always tells the truth is further proof that CNN is fake news.
