Editorial: There he goes again: Bill de Blasio's presidential campaign fundraising stinks just like his mayoral fundraising did

The lasting stain on Bill de Blasio's mayoralty, hitting up people with business before his administration for big political donations, is defining his run for president.

New federal disclosures show him raking in top dollar from plenty of players who want something from City Hall, despite his public declaration in April that "We don't take donations from people that we're doing business with."

Brooklyn Democratic Party insider Frank Carone, the architect of a $173 million deal paying a pair of shady landlords to convert their shabby apartments into affordable housing, gave the $2,800 max, as did his wife.

Two principals at RAL Development, which the city's Economic Development Corp. recently tapped to build its Union Square Tech Hub, chipped in $2,800 each.

Triangle Equities developer Lester Petracca and his family members gave $8,400; they're working with the city to build developments in the Rockaways and on Staten Island.

Meanwhile, just 9% of the mayor's haul came from small-dollar donors. Perfect.
