Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Thursday reminded the president of the United States that we are a nation of laws.
"The actions of the Department of Justice will not be improperly influenced by political considerations," Sessions said in a written statement, a response to the latest criticism from Donald Trump that his appointee is not protecting him and his friends from ongoing federal criminal investigations.
The nation needed to hear it, and Sessions needed to say it.
