Oct. 20--All right, Cubs fans. Don't panic. Don't bow to your superstitions. We didn't see any black cats in New York. Just some good Mets pitching.
OK, the Mets did show the infamous black cat of 1969 in a scoreboard video. Talk about rubbing it in.
Don't get mad, get even.
The Cubs are down 2-0 in the National League Championship Series. That's no reason to start having nightmares about the curse of the billy goat.
Have faith. The Cubs were clutch against the Pirates. They creamed the Cardinals. They've got the roster and the juice to beat the Mets. And now they're home for three games. (Be confident about that third game being necessary.) They need four wins.
Take a deep cleansing breath or two before the 7:07 p.m. start Tuesday.
The Cubs are good. They belong here.
