Edinson Cavani trains with Manchester United for first time following summer transfer

New Manchester United signing Edinson Cavani has trained with the club for the first time since his summer transfer to Old Trafford.

Cavani was one of four players to secure deals at United on transfer deadline day - as well as Alex Telles, Facundo Pellistri and Amad Diallo - as he signed a one-year deal following his release from Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the summer.

Despite signing for the club on October 5, the veteran striker was unable to make his debut for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side in Saturday's 4-1 victory over Newcastle in the Premier League.

That's because he had to undergo a two-week period of isolation after arriving in the UK due to the country's coronavirus protocols, which didn't expire until today (Sunday, October 18).

However, now Cavani's time in quarantine has come to an end he was free to finally meet his new teammates and join in his first training session on Sunday.

He was pictured entering the training pitch at Carrington alongside midfielder Nemanja Matic.

The 33-year-old is now in contention to make his first appearance for the club, which he could do against his old side PSG on Tuesday when United get their Champions League campaign underway in Paris.
