Edinson Cavani has ended speculation about his future putting pen-to-paper on a new 12-month contract with Manchester United.
Signed as a free-agent following his release from Paris Saint-Germain, the 34-year-old agreed to an initial one-year deal, with the option to extend that for a further season.
After a disturbed pre-season last summer, which saw Cavani go months without playing football, the forward has grown in influence to become one of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's most important players.
The Uruguayan has recently hit a real purple patch in form, scoring eight times in his last seven matches in all competitions.
That included netting four goals in United's Europa League semi-final victory over AS Roma, helping them reach their first final under Solskjaer.

The Norwegian has made it clear on a number of occasions that he hoped Cavani would stay at Old Trafford, despite suggestions he could return to South America to be closer to his family.
Edinson's father Luis had previously claimed there was a very good chance he would leave English football, with Boca Juniors his most likely destination.
"There's a 60 per cent chance of Edinson coming to South America. We're very excited," Luis said back in March.
"He doesn't feel comfortable where he is at the moment. He's been thinking about being closer to his family for over two years now and that's the reason why I think Edi will end up playing for a club in South America."
However, Cavani has looked at home in recent weeks and is ready to extend his Premier League career until at least the end of the 2021/22 season.
Solskjaer had previously urged his striker to continue playing at the top level for as long as he physically could.

"Sometimes I look at him and think wow, at that age I had to retire because of my knees. I wish I could keep going like he does," Solskjaer said last week.
"So what I say to him as well: play at the highest level as long as you can. Play and enjoy it because suddenly it is taken away and hopefully we can see him here next year."
The United boss has also spoken in glowing terms about his impact on the club's younger players, something that is now set to extend beyond the end of this season.
In a statement released on the club's official site, Cavani said: “Over the season, I have developed a great affection for the club and everything that it represents.
"I feel a deep bond with my team-mates and the staff who work behind the scenes here. They give me extra motivation every day and I know that, together, we can achieve special things."
