Edinson Cavani sends message to Manchester United fans after difficult start to season

Edinson Cavani has urged Manchester United fans to keep their faith in the team after an inconsistent start to the new season.

United have only won one of their last six outings in the Premier League and know an immediate turnaround in fortunes is needed if manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is to keep his job.

The Reds travel to Watford on Saturday afternoon in need of a positive result ahead of a gruelling schedule which sees them face Villarreal, Chelsea and Arsenal in the space of just nine days.

Cavani has been sidelined during the international break through injury and is hoping to be back for selection soon so he can play his part in turning United's fortunes around on the pitch.

When asked if he had a message for the supporters for the rest of the season Cavani told Inside United: "It would be to have faith in their team and to have faith in their players, who, without a doubt, will be trying hard to perform well and to keep growing and improving, so that the faith that they’ve shown us, we might be able to pay it back with good results, hard work and by winning.

"So I’d just like to send best wishes to all the United fans and it really is a pleasure for me to be here at their club."
