Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani has sent a message of congratulations to fellow new signing Facundo Pellistri.
Experienced striker Cavani has joined the Red Devils on a two-year deal after his departure from Paris Saint-Germain.
And he has been joined by fellow Uruguayan Pellistri after a busy deadline day with the teenager winger signing from Penarol.
Cavani will no doubt be expected to play a part in helping Pellistri settle at Old Trafford as he adapts after a move to Europe.
And he congratulated his compatriot after his dream move, stating he is ready and waiting to welcome him to the club.
“Congratulations Facu,” Cavani wrote on Instagram as he shared United’s picture unveiling him as their latest signing.
“Safe travels and we’ll be waiting here to accompany you.”
In reply, the teenager wrote: “Thank you very much Edi!
“You are a crack [great player]. Let’s go!”
Pellistri played 37 times for Penarol in the Uruguayan top flight last season, building his reputation after being on United’s radar.
“To join a club with the history of Manchester United is a dream come true,” he told United’s official website.
“I have learnt a lot at Penarol and I would like to thank them for everything they have done for me. To have the confidence of the manager is an amazing feeling and I know that working with him will be perfect for my development.
“I am coming into a squad full of great players who I will learn from every day. Everyone knows that Manchester United is a club that gives young players an opportunity and I am ready to work hard every day to earn those chances and prove myself in England.”
Cavani, meanwhile, has been handed the iconic No.7 shirt at Old Trafford.

After completing his move, Cavani said: “Manchester United is one of the greatest clubs in the world, so it is a real honour to be here. I’ve worked really hard during the time off and I feel eager to compete and represent this incredible club.
“I have played in front of some of the most passionate supporters in football during my career and I know that it will be the same in Manchester. I cannot wait to experience the Old Trafford atmosphere, when it is safe for the fans to return.
“I look forward to continuing to write my little story inside the book of football and I know that’s why my focus has to remain the same as always - work, work, work. I have had a conversation with the manager and this has increased my desire to wear this beautiful shirt.”
