Cavani's expected return date named
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes Edinson Cavani is close to returning to fitness.
The Uruguay international has not featured for the Red Devils this season having extended his stay at Old Trafford. Cavani made a huge impact at the club last term and United supporters were delighted when he signed on for the 2021-22 season.
While the re-signing of Cristiano Ronaldo has triggered plenty of fanfare as of late – he even took Cavani's no. 7 jersey – Cavani will still want to have an impact. Solskjaer said he is close to being back in contention, but the match with West Ham on Sunday will come too soon.
"Edinson hopefully will start training with us after the weekend, maybe Monday, so maybe involved on Wednesday," he said.

Dalot backed to take chance after Wan-Bissaka suspension
Undoubtedly the key moment in United's 2-1 loss to Young Boys in the Champions League on Tuesday was Aaron Wan-Bissaka's red card.
The dismissal means that United will be without Wan-Bissaka for the next European clash with Villarreal and Dalot will be keen to take the opportunity presented to him should he get the nod from Solskjaer.
United also face West Ham in the League Cup on Wednesday and Samuel Luckhurst has been assessing the Portugal defender's prospects for the season in light of recent developments.
"Dalot's professionalism in rejecting Dortmund was laudable as he genuinely believes he can force his way back into the United XI," he said. "Dalot's morale was lifted by his time in Italy and call up to the Portugal squad for the European Championship."

Solskjaer to be 'questioned faster'
Former United striker Louis Saha believes Solskjaer will come in for more severe scrutiny this season after the club's summer business.
United spent big to land Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane before Ronaldo arrived and Saha thinks there will be a shorter grace period for the coach as a result.
"Ole is still a young manager, where you always look for a new mistake for him. It is unrealistic," Saha said.
"I do think that he will be questioned faster because the team doesn't have any weaknesses. For me, it is a very strong side."
