Edinson Cavani and Celtic transfer 'heart attack' that has Hoops fans on tenterhooks

Hopeful Celtic fans have shared their frustrations on social media as footage of Edinson Cavani outside Parkhead has them in transfer dreamland.

The Uruguayan striker isn't heading to Glasgow to light up the Scottish Premiership as he nears a two-year deal with Manchester United.

Sky Sports are using a video package of Cavani from outside Celtic Park from 2017 in their news reports and it's fair to say it has a few Hoops fans excited.

But, despite no deal for the former Paris Saint Germain forthcoming, Celtic are set to welcome a compatriot in the form of Milan left-back Diego Laxalt before the window closes.

The 27-year-old old is poised to sign a one-year loan deal with the Premiership champions as Neil Lennon finds competition for Greg Taylor.

But there's no doubt the Cavani stock footage is causing ripples on social media.

Craig Hasell joked: "Wish they would stop using footage of Cavani at Celtic park on transfer news. Keep getting my hopes up."

Caffers added: "Sky Sports showing Cavani signing autographs outside Celtic Park there and I immediately stood up...Then sat down after saying 'oh'."

Jamie Moravcik shared: "After seeing this on Sky Sports. I've just had a heart attack. Cavani at Celtic Park. Turns out it was just library footage."
