Edinburgh Zoo’s lion cubs show off their playful side in new footage

Adorable lion cubs have been spotted fooling about in wholesome footage shared by Edinburgh Zoo.

Six-month old Mitaali, Keshari and Kushanu are spending more time outside as they continue to grow and become more confident, according to staff.

The newborns joined their parents - resident lions Roberta and Jayendra - last summer.

The Asian lions cubs can be seen jumping up on mum and dad and play fighting with their siblings.

The three were born at Edinburgh Zoo in August 2019 and named in tribute to the Gir forest in western India where the endangered species is found.

The Asian lion differs from the African lion in several ways. Asian lions are generally smaller than their African cousins, and the males do not develop such a substantial mane, so their ears are more visible.

Earlier this month the zoo shared photos of the pride celebrating Valentines Day with decorated boxes full of treats.

The cubs seemed to love their Valentine's gifts.

Going by this footage it has been another fun day for the adorable cubs.
