A little boy burst into laughter after a lion attempted to attack him during a trip to Edinburgh Zoo with his family.
The young lad, Evan, strolled towards the creature at the popular attraction and turned his back to the animal, which eyed him closely.
His mum exclaims 'Oh, he's looking at you!" before the lion suddenly pounces.
In the hair-raising incident, which was caught on video by mum Catherine Kennedy, the lion suddenly swipes at the boy as instinct takes over and bashes the glass with its paws - right where Evan is standing.
Huge muddy streaks are left on the window from the lion's paws as onlookers exclaim in shock at the incident.
Evan, unfazed by the big cat's attempted attack (which was thwarted by the glass window), breaks into laughter before running away from the enclosure.
Other children watching on scream and giggle at the huge animal's efforts, while Evan declares 'I knew he was going to do that, he's watching me!".
Adult male lions can weigh up to 190kg.
Evan's mum Catherine shared the jump-inducing video on Twitter, writing "The lion at Edinburgh Zoo thought Evan was dinner!".
