Edinburgh woman threatened to kill cabin crew member during foul mouthed air rage threat

An oil industry expert threatened to kill a member of cabin crew during a shocking drunken outburst on board an aircraft.

Veronique Morel told Qatar Airways staff to “f*** off” when they were forced to wake her after the flight from Doha landed in Edinburgh last year.

Morel then made the threats to kill one employee before emptying her bag on the floor and struggling with police officers.

The 39-year-old, of Marchmont, Edinburgh, yelled “f*** you” at the officers before she was bundled into a police van.

Morel, a seismic acquisition analyst with ION Geophysical, appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last week where she pled guilty to three charges including behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, being drunk on board the aircraft and resisting police arrest.

She told the court she “could not remember waking up on the plane but I do remember being in the police station”.

Sheriff Adrian Fraser QC deferred sentence to February for social work reports.
