An Edinburgh woman has gone viral on social media site TikTok after was left with painful-looking sunburn on her face, with even her lips left red and raw.
But, while you might think she'd been on a two-week holiday to Spain, she reveals the sunburn happened while on a trip to Edinburgh Zoo.
And here's the punchline: it was only seven degrees.
Sammy Watson shared the clip on video-sharing platform Tik Tok, titled "Tell me you're Scottish", and it has already racked up over two thousand likes.
Hinting at the woes Scottish people face when trying to tan (which almost always goes red instead of that golden glow you had in mind"), she said: "Tell me your Scottish without telling me you're Scottish, I'll go first."
"I went to the zoo this week. It was seven degrees, this is currently what my face looks like. But that top lip, who needs lip liner", Sammy told her followers.
Other Tik Tok users were quick to sympathise with poor Sammy and share their own horror stories of being burnt when they least expected it.
One said: "'It was seven degrees' I felt that".
Another added: "I got sunburnt...sitting in my bedroom."
"This is why I love our country", commented one user.
One person wrote: "Aye, the struggle is real."
While many commended Sammy's sense of humour, the moral of the story is never forget to wear your factor 50...even in Scotland.
