Ndata Bobb died at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh after emergency crews rushed to a home on Restalrig Avenue in the early hours of Thursday August 28. Police had been called around 1am following reports of a disturbance at the property. Bobb, who was 43, was taken to the hospital for treatment but did not survive.
Her death has since been described as “shocking,” and tributes have poured in from family, friends and former colleagues. Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers during what police called an extremely difficult time, as reported by the BBC.
A 55-year-old man was also taken to St John’s Hospital for treatment. He was later arrested and charged in connection with Bobb’s death and is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday September 1. Images from the scene showed the area cordoned off with officers standing guard behind police tape.

Those who knew Bobb remembered her as warm and deeply caring. Fatoumatta Trawally wrote, “So sad we meet at her mom’s funeral Just last month may yalla Allah forgive her shortcomings and grant her Jannahtul firduss.” Another friend, Beulah MJ Obiageli Ogoh, said, “No! This is shocking! You’ve only recently lost your mum Ndata, sadly you’ve joined her so soon. Rest well sis. May God grant you eternal rest and watch over your children.”
Lyndsay Currie added, “Rest in Peace beautiful lady and prayers with your family during this tough time.” Awa Bah Yaye Baye, who described Bobb as a former co-worker, wrote, “My former co-worker, my Sister, my niece, my friend, you DO NOT deserve this at all. A very beautiful lady inside and out. She was very loving, jovial and very peaceful. Allah knows best. May Allah forgive your shortcomings and grant you Jannah. May Allah protect the children you have left behind. You will be surely missed.”

Detective Inspector Kevin Tait of Police Scotland said, “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Ndata at this extremely difficult time. Our investigation remains ongoing, however we are not looking for anyone else in connection with Ndata’s death. This is a shocking incident and I would urge anyone with any concerns, or information, to contact police.”
Police Scotland confirmed the details in a statement: “A 55-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a woman in Edinburgh.
