Edinburgh woman's emotional reunion with family after four-year trip goes viral

An Edinburgh woman has gone viral online after she shared her emotional reunion with family and friends after returning from Australia.

Quickly gaining over 122,000 views and 13,000 likes in under 24 hours, the video posted to TikTok by Madison Frain showed her surprise her loved ones in time for Christmas.

Arriving at Edinburgh Airport last week, the clip began with her explaining that her trip back home to the capital had been a complete secret, with no one expecting her arrival.

Following a four-year-stay down under, the montage then showed her surprising her mum at her front door, only to be met with a heartwarming reaction.

Going on to film similar clips surprising other family members and friends, many could be seen bursting into tears and smiling as they were reunited for the first time since before the pandemic.

Sharing the clip to her TikTok account, Madison said: "After four years of living in Australia, I'm finally home for a visit."

Pulling on the heartstrings of thousands of other users on the app, many were quick to comment on how the clip had left them emotional.

One user replied: "These videos along with Caledonia has me absolutely sobbing, welcome home!"

Another said: "Omg I am absolutely blithering at this video, the best welcome coming home to Scotland."

A third commented: "This made me smile. I'm from Edinburgh and there is no place like home."
