Edinburgh woman rushed to hospital after fire breaks out in Corstorphine flat

An Edinburgh woman was rushed to hospital after a huge fire broke out at flat this morning (December 15)

Fire crews were called to the scene on Alan Breck Gardens in the early hours of Tuesday after the blaze began in one of the flats within the building.

Three fire engines and a 'height vehicle' were present at the fire, as smoke was seen billowing out into the street.

Images have shown the flat to have been completely destroyed, with serious smoke damage present on the outside of the property.

While services worked tirelessly to put out the fire, the woman was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, where she was treated for smoke inhalation.

However, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed that there were no casualties as a result of the blaze.
