Edinburgh woman dragged from path by thug with crooked teeth in terrifying late night attack

An Edinburgh woman was dragged from a path by a hooded thug in a terrifying late night attack.

The individual was walking through an industrial estate near Fishwives Causeway at 11.30pm on Thursday (12 November) when a man grabbed her from behind trying to pull her off the path before a passing cyclist intervened.

The 30-year-old who was assaulted is said to be shaken up by the frightening incident however police believe it was an isolated attack.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s around 5ft 8, with crooked teeth wearing a dark hoodie and trousers at the time.

Detective Constable Neil Donaldson at Fettes Police Office in Edinburgh said: "This would have been a frightening and traumatic experience for the victim.

“Whilst this appears to be a rare and isolated incident we would like to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of Fishwives Causeway around 11.30 pm on Thursday, 11 November 2021 and who may have seen a man fitting the above description".

Anyone with information should contact police via telephone number 101 quoting incident number 3903 of 11 November 2021. Alternatively calls can be made via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
