Edinburgh woman dedicates her birthday cake to the Lothian number 26 bus

Lothian buses were delighted to find out that an Edinburgh woman had celebrated her birthday by dedicating her cake to the number 26 bus.

The 26 service is known for taking passengers as far out as Tranent in East Lothian and is often nicknamed 'the zoo bus' for also stopping off at Edinburgh zoo.

The woman shared pictures of the highly detailed bus cake, which featured every unique feature of the 26 - including the 'fleetofthefuture' logo.

Sonya MC Gorgonzolla dedicated her birthday cake to Lothian buses online, saying: "Hope you’re all safe and well.

"Thought you might like this. A wee birthday salute to Lothian buses on my birthday.

"The detail on it is amazing. Spent many a day happily travelling on this one from one side of town to the other - caring drivers and great banter. Bus tasted great too hehe.

Lothian buses replied:" How amazing is this birthday cake tribute to Lothian Buses?!"

Many Edinburgh locals showed their appreciation for Lothian buses and the detailed cake.

One woman said: "Fabulous and a tribute to an undervalued service and all who are keeping essential workers moving."

Another said: "I appreciate the continued bus service so I can get to work early in the morning, I hope Lothian keep the early morning 21 service running after this is over as saves me so much hassle getting to work for 6am."
