Edinburgh wine bar Good Brothers closes after just one day due to coronavirus case

A wine bar and bottle shop in Edinburgh has had to cease its takeaway and delivery services almost as quickly as they began after a staff member tested positive for coronavirus.

Good Brothers Wine Bar in Stockbridge had only just relaunched themselves as a temporary 'Provisions and Wine Shop' yesterday, advertising their fresh fruit and veg, cheeses, charcuterie and Spanish treats that were available to takeaway just a matter of hours ago on Instagram.

The venue was also set to hold a special pop-up takeaway with popular Edinburgh chef King of Feasts over the next couple of days from the bar's kitchen.

The changes had come as a response to the restrictions currently facing the central belt's hospitality industry.

Writing on Instagram, the team said:

"Frustratingly we have to close Good Brothers immediately due to one of our staff members testing positive for Covid-19.

"This is heart breaking for us as so much hard work went into transforming our little bar into a shop this week but absolutely safety first.

"The staff member has had very little contact with any of us, but as a precaution we are going into lock down and following government procedures."

The team reassured customers who may have had food deliveries from the store yesterday that chef Rob from King of Feasts had not been in contact with the affected staff member.
