Edinburgh wine bar appeals for help after 'heartless' late night break-in attempt

A wine bar in Edinburgh has been left shocked by a 'cruel' late night break-in attempt during 'one of the hardest times for hospitality'.

Decanter in Bruntsfield are appealing for the public's help in gaining more information surrounding the attempted break-in which left the building's glass shattered.

The bar added on Instagram that there were signs of force being used on their door and are hoping that locals may have seen the culprit in the area on Thursday evening (22 October).

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of an attempted break-in at a restaurant on Bruntsfield Place, Edinburgh.

"The incident is believed to have happened between 10.30pm on Thursday 22 October and 8am on Friday 23 October.

"Anyone with any information should contact us on 101 quoting incident number 1899 of 23 October 2020."
