Edinburgh welcomes 'world's longest' inflatable assault course this summer

Edinburgh is hosting the 'world's longest' inflatable assault course this summer.

The Tartan Titan lands at Conifox Adventure Park in August. Likened to assault courses on TV shows such as Total Wipeout and Ninja Warrior UK, the course is just a 20-minute drive outside the city centre.

Edinburgh Live previously reported that the course includes over 50 sections of obstacles to bounce over, climb or run at. It is a whopping 560 metres long which, according to the team at Conifox, is almost 65 metres longer than the course currently holding the world record, packed "full of challenges for all ages," reports the Daily Record.

Dedicated time slots for families to take on the mammoth course will run from August 6 to 16, with general admission as well as special sessions for children under 10 and adults-only sessions too, each one lasting 90 minutes.

The Conifox team say that people can enjoy sections like the Corkscrew, Wipe Out, Ninja Run, Ladder Challenge, Tidal Wave and Everest Slide. There will also be special Challenge Days when visitors can attempt to set a record time on the course with a prize for the winner of the 'Titan Challenge 2022'.

To qualify participants must be taller than 1.2 metres and will be required to wear appropriate clothing such as long trousers and long-sleeved tops with no belts or zips. Visitors will also be asked to purchase a pair of special Tartan Titan socks for £2 as they require unique grip soles to help competitors stick to the course.

Tickets for general admission start at £18 per person. The park also has a nine-hole footgolf course, pedal go-karts, off-road pedal tractors, a kids' pedal tractor farm, springers, trampolines, swings and balance beams.

Conifox Adventure Park's managing director James Gammell, said: “This is just the most exciting time for us all at the park. We’re constantly looking for new ways to up the fun factor here, for both children and adults, and we’ve come up with something thrilling that really fits the bill. It’s an action-packed adventure, accessible for the whole family to enjoy.

“The Tartan Titan is unique worldwide, only available at Conifox, and it’s set to be an absolute blockbuster for us. We’re sure it is going to prove fantastically popular with visitors who are up for a challenge and a lot of fun.

“We’re especially looking forward to real enthusiasts taking up the Titan Challenge and encouraging super-fit celebrities and sports stars to join in and help raise the bar. So come on down and take on the Titan.”
