Edinburgh weather: Winds up to 50mph as Hurricane Epsilon brings miserable conditions

Edinburgh is set to see some very wet and windy weather this week in the run up to Halloween.

It may have been a blessing in disguise that guising is cancelled this year, with gusts of up to 50mph winds to hit on Saturday.

Unfortunately, Scotland is to be hit by the remnants of Hurricane Epsilon as the storm makes its way across the Atlantic.

The American front is currently being tracked by weather experts as it travels across the ocean and trundles towards the UK with some help from the Jet Stream.

Although the hurricane will not have the same force as it did on the other side of the pond, it will still bring some pretty miserable conditions when it arrives.

Forecasters predict the west may see the worst of the weather front, however Edinburgh and the Lothians will experience heavy rain starting from tomorrow.

According to the Met Office, the thunder showers will begin late on Tuesday morning and will continue throughout the day, with stronger winds to push in during the evening.

The middle of the week will see slightly dryer spells in the east, however heavy rain showers are predicted towards the weekend.

Temperatures will also feel cooler this week, with lows of six degrees expected on Tuesday.
