Edinburgh weather warning: Another thunderstorm is due to hit on Wednesday

A weather warning has been issued as another thunderstorm is forecast to hit the country on Wednesday.

The yellow warning covers much of Scotland including Edinburgh and the Lothians. Heavy showers, hail and thunder and expected.

There a small chance homes and businesses could be flooded, with lightning strikes also causing disruption.

Driving conditions could be difficult and public transport could also be affected.

Just last week a storm brought fearsome downpours of rain and to the capital.

The rain is expected  to start during the day on Wednesday. Parts of England will be hit earlier in the week.

Here's the Met Office's forecast for Edinburgh this week: "Heavy showers with hail and thunder expected on Wednesday.

"Further showers on Thursday, heaviest in the east. Drier with fewer showers by Friday."
