Edinburgh weather: Sun forecast as lockdown rules change in Scotland next week

Scots will be able to enjoy some sun as lockdown rules change next week, long range forecasters predict.

Whilst the most reliable weather forecasts can only be given five days in advance, long range predictions for the next few weeks can give us an idea of what to expect.

And current predictions are for some sunny spells from next Monday when the rules are set to change to allow for greater freedoms.

The current stay-at-home order will be changed to "stay local", and people will be allowed to leave home without a reasonable excuse for the first time since January.

Whilst some rain is predicted for April 5, AccuWeather forecasts for Tuesday onwards suggest the city should enjoy sunny spells with cloudy patches.

Tuesday will see a high of 10C, with only a 9 per cent chance of showers during the day.

The mercury will rise a little in the rest of the week, with highs of 11C on Wednesday and Thursday, but there is likely to be a little more rain.

Things should improve heading into the first weekend with lighter restrictions, with temperatures of 12C on Saturday and little chance of rain.
