Edinburgh weather: Snowfall could hit capital on Thursday election day

Edinburgh voters have been warned to bundle up this Thursday as the capital will be hit by freezing temperatures and potential snowfall.

There is now a small chance that the capital could wake to a layer of snow on Thursday, with NetWeather predicting an 18 per cent chance of the white stuff falling in the early hours.

Temperatures are to dramatically drop on Wednesday evening going into Thursday, with the Met Office warning of minus temperatures all throughout the night.

Luckily, snow is unlikely to fall throughout the day, however, voters should ensure they pack an umbrella because the Met Office predicts pouring rain.
