Edinburgh weather: Snow begins to fall as Edinburgh braces for another cold snap

Edinburgh will brace for another cold snap next week as a flurry of rain, wind and snow is set to hit the capital by Monday night (December 6.)

The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for parts of northern Scotland for ice, as conditions have been slippy since Wednesday, December 1.

The snow has already started in parts of Edinburgh and West Lothian, with the rain overnight meaning it may not lie on the ground.

In their weekly weather round-up, forecasters at the Met Office have stated for next week: "A wet day Monday with some snow on higher ground, strong winds later. A brief interlude of brighter conditions on Tuesday before further rain and strong winds later and Wednesday."

Videos taken today in Edinburgh show flurries of snow and sleet across the capital, sent into us by Edinburgh Live readers.
