NHS Lothian has issued assurances their mass vaccination centres remain open for people with scheduled appointments, despite the wintry weather.
Edinburgh awoke to treacherous conditions this morning, with Lothian buses becoming trapped, Edinburgh trams being cancelled and train services disrupted. (You can keep up to date with all the latest weather updates on our blog here.)
But NHS Lothian confirmed to Edinburgh live that they remain open to the public today across the vaccination sites and would encourage people to please still attend their appointment.

Colin Briggs, Director of Director of Strategic Planning, NHS Lothian said, “Despite today’s wintry weather, our vaccination centres remain open. Where it is safe to do so, we would encourage people to please still attend their vaccination appointment.
“If you have an appointment scheduled and are now unable to safely travel because of the weather, you can rearrange your appointment online or by phoning the COVID-19 Vaccination Helpline on 0800 030 8013.

The news comes as the Health board announced that they will be opening up a brand new drive-thru vaccination service at Queen Margaret University today.
