Edinburgh has had a gloomy morning with a downpour and dark skies.
After an 'above average' September, October's temperatures have dropped and Scotland is back to experiencing more typical Scottish weather.
The evening have been colder with many Edinburgh locals wondering if it is time to finally put the heating on, or just brave it with another jumper.
It has been raining for the majority of the last week with showers and unsettled weather moving through the city.
However, the rain won't last forever with the Met Office predicted better weather for Edinburgh.
The Met Office has forecasted that the rain is expected to end this evening with Wednesday looking much brighter to make up for the grey skies.
Met Office gives exact time rain will stop
Rain and grey skies are expected to linger throughout the afternoon.
The Met Office describes the weather for Edinburgh today on October 5 as: "heavy showers changing to cloudy by early evening."
By 6pm, the rain is predicted to ease as precipitation falls from 50 percent to just 20.
However it will still feel dark as the grey clouds stick around and then the sun now sets at 6.30pm.
On Wednesday October 6, Edinburgh is expected to brighten up with sunshine all day until the early evening where cloud will cast over.
