This could be the sign we have all been waiting for - is summer finally on its way?
Edinburgh is forecast for a mini heatwave next week that is expected to last until Friday (May 22) with glorious highs of 20 degrees, which will be a very nice contrast to the horrible stormy weather this week.
The heatwave
It will start to heat up from Monday next week with temperatures of around 18C, reaching highs of 20C by Tuesday.
It will gradually begin to cool but you will still see highs of 19 degrees on Wednesday, later dropping to 14C by Sunday - we'll take that.
That kind of weather definitely calls for taps aff, BBQs in the meadows and a visit to the city's best beer gardens.
A Met Office forecast for next week reads: "High pressure looks set to remain across the UK next week, which will bring plenty of fine, dry and settled weather, with increasing amounts of sunshine."
This week's weather
We will be in need of some vitamin d after the 800-mile-wide storm that is set to bring strong winds and arctic temperatures to Edinburgh from today until Saturday.
Gusts of up to 40mph are expected but at least we know good weather is just around the corner.
