Edinburgh weather forecast for Saturday and Sunday as bone-chilling temperatures likely

Edinburgh's big freeze looks set to continue this weekend with some bone-chilling temperatures forecast.

Forecasters at the Met Office reckon things could feel as cold as -6C on Saturday, with freezing temperatures expected for much of the day.

Things should be around 0C or -1C for most of the morning before we soar to highs of 1C in the early afternoon. This is set to continue until around 5pm before temperatures plummet again. Weather experts say it could feel as cold as -5C by 6pm, and then -6C by 9pm.

The sun should be out for large parts of the day, with pretty much no chance of rain or snow showers – so at least there's that.

According to the Met Office Sunday looks like being another cold one, with temperatures hovering around freezing all day long. Again, it could feel as harsh as -5C around 9am.

There's a slim chance of rain in the afternoon with cloud expected, but in all likelihood it's going to be a dry one this weekend.
