Edinburgh weather: Flood alerts across Lothians as Storm Kyle to batter UK

Flood alerts have be issued for Edinburgh and the Lothians as more "thundery" downpours are set to hit Scotland.

The Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning as heavy showers are expected to roll in on Tuesday afternoon.

Forecasters say the bad weather could bring further disruption after last week's "once-in-a lifetime thunderstorm".

Locals are warned there is a chance that homes and businesses could be flooded again, with difficult driving conditions on the roads.

There may also be communities cut off by flooded roads.

Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) have issued amber flood alerts across Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife ahead of the bad weather.

It comes as Storm Kyle is set to blast the UK with winds of up to 55mph winds, with forecasters waring four-day battering from the 900-mile-wide tempest.

Fife is still recovering from the damage caused by last week's monsoon weather, which saw the council declare a "major incident" as the severe weather called for a multi-agency response to tackle widespread flooding.
