Edinburgh weather: Exact time snow and sleet set to hit on Sunday

Snow is set to fall in Edinburgh later this weekend, as well as sleet, according to the Met Office.

The remainder of Saturday looks to be wet and cold, with intermittent light rain showers and falling temperatures expected throughout the evening and night.

Temperatures will eventually fall to 2 degrees Celsius, and will continue to hover just above freezing for much of Sunday.

According to the Met Office, it will be "cold with sunny spells and wintry showers", with "light snow" expected by "late morning".

From around 3am until 7am, there will be consistent light rain in the capital, followed by a brief period of dry skies.

However, at 9am, light snow is expected to hit Edinburgh.

This burst of snow looks to be short lived, however, and should come to a stop by around 10am.

At 11am, when temperatures will begin to rise very slightly, sleet is expected to fall in the city.

After this, it will be a predominantly grey day, with brief patches of both sunshine and rain expected.

It will continue to be cold overnight and into Monday morning, but should warm up considerably by mid-afternoon.
