Edinburgh weather: Exact time heatwave will hit capital with 22C temperatures

Edinburgh is set to see temperatures soar over the next week, with highs of 22 °C in some places.

The BBC forecast predicts that Edinburgh will see clear skies and glorious temperatures from Sunday 27 June onwards.

Temperatures will reach summer highs of 22°C on Tuesday and will remain at a comfortable 21°C all week long. The lowest temperature we will see will be 12°C at midnight on Monday 28 June.

From Monday to Friday next week, there will be sunny skies for most of the day, with a gentle breeze to cut through the heat.

The weekend beginning July 3 will see these hot temperatures and sunny skies continue into the following week, and the MET Office is predicting another heatwave to last through July as well.

There are still concerns for summer thunderstorms due to the increase in pressure, but there is hope that Scotland will have a summer to remember.

Restrictions are set to end on July 19, so it may well be time to get your summer trips planned!

You can check out the full forecast on the BBC Weather website, and a longer prediction of weather on the MET Office website.
