Edinburgh weather: Exact date city temperatures will hit 16C as temperatures soar

Edinburgh is set for a glorious week ahead with temperatures soaring until the end of the week.

Weather forecasters have said that whilst highs today (March 22) will peak to 13C, we can expect this to jump tomorrow and on Thursday (March 25) with highs of 16C and low of 1C and 5C, respectively.

Temperatures won't dip too much thankfully with highs of 15C on Friday with some cloudy intervals.

Saturday and Sunday are much the same according to the BBC Weather with clouds also forecast for this period.

Predictions say that Saturday will see highs fo 13C whilst they will rise slightly higher on Sunday (March 27) reaching 15C.

You'll be glad to know however that in comparison, the weather in Madrid, Spain, is rather dreich with rain set for much of the week and highs of just 12C.

Today:

Early mist and fog soon clear then largely dry with long sunny spells, although a few showers may develop later this afternoon. After a chilly start an unseasonably warm day away from the east coast. Mainly light southeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Tonight:

Any showers soon dying out to leave a dry evening and night with long clear spells, although cloud is expected to increase through the early hours. Mainly light winds. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Wednesday:

Cloud breaking through the morning to leave a dry day with almost unbroken sunshine through the afternoon. Feeling warm in the sunshine with mainly light winds. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

High pressure brings dry, settled weather with clear or sunny spells through the coming days. Still unseasonably warm by day but rather chilly at night. Mainly light winds.
