Edinburgh weather: Cold snap set to end with heavy rain and cloud set for the capital

Over the last few days, Edinburgh has experienced some pretty chilly conditions, with snow and ice covering most of the city.

Weather warnings had been issued by the Met Office, as forecasters advised against any non-essential journeys.

With the latest snow shower taking place on Thursday night, many have been out enjoying the frosty weather, with some even taking a dip in the baltic waters.

However, the cold snap is predicted to end in the next few days, with milder temperatures and rain to arrive.

According to the Met Office, Saturday will see heavier cloud for most of the day, with temperatures sitting at around 1/2C.

Sunday, will also bring similar weather, however temperatures will break out of being so close to freezing, with highs of 6C expected.

The weekend is also expected to be a little windier, but gusts are not thought to be strong.

However, the cold snap will definitely come to an end on Monday, with rain showers and highs of 8C predicted for the majority of the day.
