Edinburgh Weather: City to be plunged into ANOTHER yellow snow warning from tomorrow

Edinburgh has been slapped with another yellow weather warning for snow, from Wednesday midday until Thursday afternoon.

The city has narrowly missed a current yellow weather warning issued across much of central Scotland - including West and Midlothian- for severe rainfall.

The Met Office warned that this persistent rainfall could turn to heavy snow from Wednesday afternoon and overnight into Thursday - warning that we could see around 20-30 cm of the white stuff.

The Met Office explained: "Persistent rain over southern Scotland and the far north of England will increasingly fall as snow above around 100 m during Wednesday afternoon and overnight into Thursday.

"A few cm of wet snow may accumulate down to around 100 m but above 200 m 10-15 cm may settle with perhaps 20-30 cm above 400 m. Rain is more likely on lowest ground near the east coast and may bring some localised surface water flooding."
