Edinburgh weather: Capital to be hotter than Buenos Aires as heatwave hits Scotland

Edinburgh is set to ramp up the temperature tomorrow and reach temperatures higher than Argentina.

At the hottest point of the day, Edinburgh will be basking in 21°C, with some cloudy skies throughout the day to mask the sun.

Temperatures will reach 20°C before midday, whereas in Buenos Aires, Argentina, it will only be 17°C at the same time.

The best time for sunbathers and warm weather enthusiasts to get out will be mid-to-late afternoon, where it will be humid, little to no wind and peak temperature by 3-4pm.

In Buenos Aires, it will reach a high of 19°C by 4pm, but sunset will be extremely early, approximately 5:49pm. On the other hand, in Edinburgh, the sun will be shining well into the evening and eventually will set by 10pm.

For both areas, there is little to no chance of rain, but a high chance of winds. The highest speed of winds in Edinburgh will be 17mph at 2pm, and 7mph in Buenos Aires around the same time.

People of Edinburgh have been encouraged to get out and enjoy the hot, humid weather where they can, as it doesn’t usually last in Scotland!

The following week is looking to shape up just the same, with the Met Office reporting UK-wide: “Temperatures are expected to be very warm under the high, perhaps hot for a time in the south east, but look to remain average in the far north.”

So where would you rather be? Sunny, scorching Edinburgh, or mild Argentina?
