Edinburgh weather: BBC confirms capital to be hit with two days of snow

Forecasters have predicted snow next week for Edinburgh, with temperatures to drop below freezing.

According to BBC weather, a cold snap will come on March 9. The snow will fall throughout the morning, with temperatures of around 1C until midday.

According to their predictions, the sun will reappear by around 5pm - and likely move most of the snow before a bright day on March 10. Frosty times could come again the following day, though will be gone by Saturday evening.

Backing up this forecast is the Met Office, who said: “Colder air may ingress into northern and eastern areas at times, perhaps bringing wintry showers, with a low probability that these snow showers may become more widespread.

“Later in the period there is an increasing chance of it turning more unsettled, possibly bringing snow at times.”

The Weather Channel, who provide forecasts for Google, have a slightly different forecast. They predict snow showers in the late night of March 9, continuing through the following day.

They say March 11 will see further frosty periods, though heavy rain is likely to wash away any evidence of snow.
