Edinburgh weather as capital set for nine days of sun as temperatures soar up to 19C

The capital is set for highs of nearly 20C during the middle of this month - and we have three words - bring it on.

Currently, the city is a bit windy however whilst there's also some cloud coverage, the sun is still shining and we'll take it.

However this is all going to change with Edinburgh set for nine days of sunshine according to the BBC Weather.

Experts have said that from May 17 until May 25, the sun will shine on the Scottish capital with the first day (Tuesday) set to see a peak of 19C.

In the days after that, temperatures of 17C and 16C are expected where it will then dip to 15C on the 22nd.

By May 23 (Monday), it will then jump back up to 16C with a moderate breeze cooling down the city over the course of the nine day period.

Weather forecasters have said that rain could be likely however if the rain does come, it won't be a downpour and shouldn't last long at all.

Edinburgh will have highs of 19C mid-May. (pa.)
