Edinburgh weather and exact date snow will return in January as temperatures set to drop

Following a period of relatively mild weather after the snow and ice seen at the end of last year, wintery conditions are set to return to Edinburgh later this January.

We previously reported that snow was expected to fall in the city towards the end of the month, and now the exact day it's set to hit has been predicted by forecasters.

According to AccuWeather, Edinburgh will see snow on January 29.

Over the next few days, temperatures in the city will continue to be mostly mild — averaging just under 10 degrees Celsius.

On January 20, however, things are expected to turn significantly colder, hitting lows of just 1C.

After this, the weather will warm up slightly but on January 28 temperatures are expected to plummet to freezing.
