The weather in Scotland has gone from one extreme to another in the last couple of weeks, with the fallout of the flooding on Sunday afternoon still following on.
Many shops, bars and restaurants had to close their doors due to the flash flooding the capital experienced last weekend.
In particular, St James Quarter saw a disastrous start to their opening week, with rainfall pouring in from an open section of their roof, and flooding the basement floor of the shopping centre.
So, will we see a repeat this weekend? Or, will the sunshine finally make a return for the summer ahead?
Edinburgh weather forecast for Saturday
Saturday will see a mix of light showers of rain, and a gentle breeze in the morning being paired with some sunny spells and a high of 21 °C by 4pm.
Although the capital will see rainfall during the day, these showers should be short and fleeting, with the sun beginning to break through the clouds by 3pm.
Edinburgh weather forecast for Sunday
Sunday will be similar to the previous day in terms of the rain and wind, but it will heat up a lot earlier in the day for Edinburgh.
Temperatures will reach 18°C by midday, and will reach 20°C in the early afternoon, only cooling off to a sensible 15°C by 10pm onwards.
Predictions for week beginning 12 July 2021
The first half of the week will be much the same as the weekend, with showers and cloudy skies more frequent than sunshine over Monday and Tuesday.
During the second half of next week conditions are expected to become more settled with dry and bright weather developing for many areas.
Temperatures are likely to be around 21°C, for most of the week, possibly heating up slightly by the end of play next week.
