Edinburgh travel chaos as car fire closes Edinburgh bypass westbound

A Vehicle fire is causing traffic chaos on the Edinburgh City Bypass this morning.

Traffic Scotland confirmed the news sharing an image of smoke billowing from a vehicle.

Emergency Services are on route to the incident which has blocked the road closing the A720 westbound.

Traffic Scotland said: #A720 Vehicle FireVehicle fire W/B at Straiton

"The road is blocked W/B

"Emergency services are en route

"Traffic in the area is slow in both directions E/B is tailing back to Lothianburn."

Edinburgh Live has contacted Scottish Fire and Rescue for comment.
