Medical emergency on Edinburgh tram as passenger falls ill

Edinburgh trams saw disruption on Friday afternoon due to a "medical emergency" at York Place.

A passenger fell ill on the tram service around 1pm on Friday. Paramedics were called to the scene.

Trams ran a part route between Edinburgh Airport and the West End.

A spokeswoman for Edinburgh Trams said: "Due to an unwell passenger at York Place trams are now running between West End and Edinburgh Airport.”

The full route was later restored though there may be further disruption in the afternoon.
