Edinburgh construction workers caught breaking Covid rules despite 'strict hygiene measures'

A host of construction workers have been caught breaking coronavirus restrictions in central Edinburgh.

As one of the only industries still allowed to go to work, at least 30 employees were seen crowding outside takeaways on their breaks.

In images taken this morning at around 11am, the workmen can be seen ignoring social distancing guidelines as they gathered for a quick break.

It is unclear what development the workers belong to, however current coronavirus restrictions state that a number of social distancing and hygiene procedures must be followed to ensure safe working can go ahead.

The two groups were seen gathering today, one outside of the Cheques sandwich bar and another outside the Taste of Italy hatch on Leith Walk.
