Edinburgh train services disrupted due to flooding on tracks near Falkirk Grahamston

Flooding on the railway is causing disruption to Edinburgh train services.

ScotRail announced shortly after 4pm that heavy rain was causing problem on the tracks near to Falkirk Grahamston. As a result they would be unable to run any trains in the area before Network Rail arrive to examine the line.

This is causing problems for those travelling on the Edinburgh to Dunblane line – with the rail operator saying that services could be cancelled, delayed or revised.

Many people will be planning to travel home by train this evening after a day out at the Festival Fringe.

Edinburgh Live reported this afternoon that weather warnings were in place for large parts, with heavy rain and thunderstorms forecast.

The warning is expected to remain in place until midnight.
